Karnavedha Sanskar is the process of piercing the ears of the child by the Acharya. Traditionally, the child should sit in the lap of the maternal uncle during the ceremony.
During Karna Vedha, the child wears new clothes then an Ayush homam is performed before conducting the Karna Vedha. The priest sprinkles Kalasa water over the child. Before piercing the ears, chanting Mantra verses is good for the well-being of the child.

The Karna Vedha Ceremony is usually done within one year of childbirth or on the 1st Nakshatra’s birthday addition to the Ayush Homam.
